The defender's rehabilitation is advancing well, giving hope that the Madrid defender might return in time to face his previous club Liverpool in November's Champions League tie.

The 27-year-old player sustained a hamstring injury during a match against French club Marseille in the initial phase of the tournament on 16 September.

Alexander-Arnold had to leave the pitch in the early stages, with initial estimates pointing to a possible layoff of up to a month and a half.

Real Madrid are scheduled to play at Liverpool on 4 November for the Champions League fixture—precisely over a month after the injury happened.

Sources close to the situation indicate that the player's recovery is advancing positively, and there is hope that Alexander-Arnold may achieve his initial comeback to Anfield after moving to Real Madrid in June.

A longtime Liverpool fan, Alexander-Arnold previously said that departing from the club he entered as a six-year-old youth player was the "most difficult decision he has ever taken."

During his spell with the Merseyside club, Alexander-Arnold notched over 350 games, helping win two Premier League championships, a European Cup, and the FA Cup.

After his transfer to Madrid, Alexander-Arnold has played five times across all competitions, logging 156 minutes of game time.
