Former Doctor Charged with Assault Allegations Against Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Prosecutors report that a former doctor has been charged with carrying out assaults against 38 victims who were under his care.
Details of the Serious Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with numerous sexual offences – including some against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
A senior CPS official commented, “Legal teams have worked at length to assist a detailed and complex police inquiry, meticulously examining the available evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
Scope of the Investigation
These allegations follow what investigators called a “complex investigation” into reported sexual offences at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.

Prosecutors outline the 45 sexual offences include:
- Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
- Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
- 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
