“It was regrettable. It was kind of an interaction with Cowboys supporters out in front of us,” Jones explained during a radio appearance. “Present was a swarm of Dallas supporters—not Jets fans, our fans. The whole venue was brimming with enthusiasm for the Cowboys.”
He further emphasized that the gesture was entirely unintentional, occurring amid the elation following the team’s last score. “I simply showed the wrong finger,” he noted. “The action was inadvertently performed. I’m not kidding. Should you call it accidental, you can. However, it got resolved pretty quick.”
