Per recent claims from a informant, Ghislaine Maxwell, currently serving a 20-year prison term for trafficking offenses, is reportedly preparing a clemency request for consideration by the presidential administration.

Special Treatment Claimed at Correctional Facility

Congressional Democrats on the House judiciary committee announced that a whistleblower provided information indicating the inmate is preparing the commutation application. Additionally, they mentioned she has been given preferential conditions at the federal prison camp in Texas.

Representative Jamie Raskin, the ranking member on the committee, declared in a news release that the facility's chief was “helping” the convict with document preparation and submission to aid her effort for clemency.

Specific details of the clemency request remain unclear, Raskin added.

Claimed Perks and Custom Arrangements

The representative claims that, per the insider, the prisoner has been given specially prepared food that are hand-delivered to her cell, and the supervisor has individually organized private meetings for her and her guests.

The visits allegedly include a “special cordoned-off area” for visitors and “an assortment of snacks and refreshments” for her guests.

Maxwell’s visitors were also allowed to bring computers, which the congressman characterized as an “unprecedented action” given the potential danger and potential for unsupervised contact.

Reportedly on one occasion, when communications failed for other inmates, Maxwell was given specific instructions about instructing her contacts to call and how personnel would relay the call to her.

Warden as “Personal Secretary”

“Per the President's remarks, granting clemency to the convict is not something he has considered,” the spokesperson added.

Recently, reports surfaced that Maxwell told close associates in emails from prison that she was more content at the new prison than her previous prison.

This past summer, Maxwell was transferred from a low-security prison in Florida's capital to the less restrictive prison in Texas, where most detainees are serving time for non-violent offenses and white-collar crimes.

This move, which experts described as “unprecedented”, occurred just days after she was questioned about the Epstein case by the senior justice official, the official, who also previously served as Donald Trump's personal lawyer.

That interview came as the administration was facing mounting pressure to release more documents related to the ongoing probe and amid widespread conjecture around Trump's own personal ties to the fallen billionaire and adjudicated criminal, who was found dead in a New York jail in 2019 while awaiting prosecution on sex-trafficking charges.

Lawmaker Reactions

Through the statement, Raskin also revealed that he had sent a letter to the President, requesting explanations about the whistleblower’s allegations, and called on the chief executive to deny the clemency appeal.

“You should not grant any form of clemency to this adjudicated and remorseless sex offender,” the representative stated in the letter. “Your Administration should not be providing her with personal amenities, with canine interaction, with federal law enforcement officials attending to her requests, or with any special treatment or facility benefit at all.”

The congressman asked that Blanche appear for a public congressional hearing to discuss the revelations and also posed three questions to Trump.

He inquired whether Trump had discussed a possible clemency for the convict with the official or others, whether he had instructed him or anyone else to provide her with the transfer or special conditions in detention, and whether Maxwell, her lawyers, family or representatives have made any commitments to Trump or his attorneys.

Raskin has asked for a response to the questions by the specified date.
