Clair Obscur Dominates at the 2025's Gaming Honors
The forty-third yearly Golden Joystick Awards were hosted on Thursday, and in a stunning performance, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was crowned the most decorated winner. The breakout role-playing game from Sandfall Interactive secured the esteemed Top Game award, along with prizes for Best Storytelling and Top Visual Design.
Complementing the developer's success, the skilled actors also received individual awards. Jennifer English was named Outstanding Lead Performance for her role as Maelle, while Ben Starr won Best Supporting Performer for his role as Verso. Additionally, Sandfall Interactive the studio received Top Studio. In total, Clair Obscur and its developers collected seven awards during the ceremony.
Additional standout winners featured Ghost of Yōtei, which received Best Audio Design and Best Console Game, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, honored with Outstanding Independent Game and PC Game of the Year. Worth mentioning, the lion's share of Golden Joystick Awards are chosen by the audience, with only 4 awards—Critics' Pick, Rising Star, Hall of Fame inductee, and Streamer Selection—determined by critics.
